Author, Judie Yuill
Judie Yuill is a lifelong New Englander and as a child she had the good fortune to spend summers at a family cottage on Squam Lake in New Hampshire.
Judie has seen every creature in this story while hiking in the Lakes Region, and she thinks the enchanting illustrations by Megan F. Kinneen make the animals realistic yet accessible to young children as they develop their own connection to nature. The animals show through their actions how easy it can be to overcome differences in pursuit of a common goal. She felt a connection with nature in the woods and the water, the pink lady slippers and forget-me-nots and the animals that make their home in the woods of New Hampshire.
Judie is a graduate of Emerson College.
